About

A press for Saṃskṛta texts

Kānti Press publishes Saṃskṛta texts in which every verse is given four ways — the original in Devanāgarī, a full IAST transliteration, and its meaning in Hindī and English — so each can be read, recited, and understood, whether or not you read the script.

The editions are made for readers, reciters, and scholars alike: someone who wants to chant a stotra correctly, someone reading for sense, someone studying the text closely. Each is set with care — the Devanāgarī and its transliteration given equal weight, every diacritic considered — but always in service of the text, never the other way round.

Editorial approach

The press is small and deliberately so. Titles are chosen and edited with attention rather than volume in mind. If you are a translator or scholar with a project that fits this list, we are glad to hear from you.
